Giving students the best ballet instruction West Alabama has to offer, the Academy of Ballet & Jazz has been providing Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas with high-qualified ballet training for over 30 years. Ms. Susu Hale Prout, owner and artistic director of the Academy of Ballet & Jazz, also serves as the Ballet Director. With over five highly qualified ballet teachers on staff, ABJ is eager to give you the best ballet instruction your dancer can receive.
Classical ballet is the basis for all dance styles and we encourage all ABJ students to sign up for at least one ballet class. Our ballet program encompasses all ages and levels. Special care is taken by our faculty to nurture all dancers young and old. The progressive program used by the ABJ faculty allows each dancer to grow at his/her individual pace in a supportive and encouraging environment. Advanced ABJ ballet dancers take their dedication seriously taking the minimum requirement of two days a week. At the conclusion of the year, ABJ ballet students amaze audiences with the story-ballet productions put on by the Academy of Ballet & Jazz. With gorgeous costumes and exquisite sets, it's a unforgettable experience for all involved.
